Hepatitis B and C Task Force and Coalition members

Hepatitis B and C Task Force and Coalition members,

NYC HBV and HCV service providers have requested additional education and training in order to facilitate the process of providing care to hepatitis B & C patients who have Medicaid, Medicaid Managed Care, Medicare, Medicare Managed Care, SSI, SSD, a combination of several of these, or who are not eligible for any health insurance at all.

Through the “Navigating Medicaid & Medicare: Hepatitis B & C Special Issues Training,” service providers will have an opportunity to:

* Improve their knowledge of the details of these systems;
* Share best practices with other HBV and HCV service providers throughout NYC;
* Establish personal contact with leaders in the field;
* Ask specific HBV and HCV questions that may be difficult to address in general trainings; and
* Provide feedback about the experience of working within these systems and how they could be improved to better meet the needs of their patients.

Please consider registering for this training, as well as passing the information along to others who would benefit. See below and attached for the training agenda.

Please also fill out the brief online pre-training survey. The purpose of the survey to find out exactly what obstacles providers face in working with these systems so that they can be specifically addressed in the training.

Thank you and I look forward to seeing you there,

Nirah Johnson, LMSW
