Dear colleagues, and friends
It is with great pleasure that I invite you to attend the 16th International Symposium on Hepatitis C Virus and Related Viruses to be held in Nice, French Riviera, on October 3-7, 2009.
This will be the 16th consecutive edition of this International Symposium on Hepatitis C Virus and Related Viruses. Over the last two decades, following the discovery of the hepatitis C virus by Michael Houghton and his colleagues, this symposium has emerged as the leading venue for the presentation of breakthrough scientific discoveries in the field of the hepatitis C virus and related viruses. Last held in San Antonio, Texas, in 2008, and Glasgow, Scotland, in 2007, the meeting attracted over 900 delegates from all over the world. Despite the current economical climate, we expect great attendance and novel scientific advances for next fall in Nice. Together with the Organizing Committee: François-Loïc Cosset, Jean Dubuisson, Geneviève Inchauspé, François Penin, we have put together a highly attractive scientific program, including 9 plenary sessions, 6 parallel sessions and 2 thematic symposia that will cover all aspects of the hepatitis C virus and related viruses basic and translational research, with a special emphasis this year on HCV entry and new HCV drug development and resistance. We will be delighted to welcome you on the French Riviera, its capital Nice, its wide selection of venues under beautiful warm skies. A site of legend famous for many things including its flower carnaval and of course the famous Cannes Film festival. I look forward to welcoming you in Nice at the 16th International Symposium on Hepatitis C Virus and Related Viruses.
Best regards,
Prof. Jean-Michel Pawlotsky, MD, PhD
